| The New Bird box 2 has proved to be
waterproof despite the deluge we have had day after day, this
winter. The blue tits as usual check
out the box for a suitable nest site for next year |
The new Robin box, as used by one last year, is
receiving a lot of interest |
| This sparrow is the most constant visitor |
| Recently this bird removed some material and
added a couple of small leaves, perhaps trying to stake a claim |
| The claim by the sparrow is not likely to
hold water with these tits though |
| This open fronted nest box is in a
honeysuckle bush, and quite well hidden, despite this, has already
been discovered, they don't miss much, do they |
| Yet another visitor, a great tit, although
not likely to use it |
| This is a bird more likely to make use of
this box. As you can see all the
small birds start checking for nesting and roosting sites now. If
you are thinking of putting up a nest box, do it NOW!! It makes a
really good Xmas present for young or old, and is very educational,
especially if it has a camera in it, watch you're own Springwatch.

| This time of year its important to keep
feeding, seed and supplying mealworms on a regular basis will
encourage birds to look to this source for their chicks next year |
| We feed each day at midday, and the worms
are gone within an hour |
