November (Page 1) 2009
After the Blackbirds left and the Robin chicks fledged not much more happened and through the rest of the summer a few birds return to check out our new bird box 1

This great tit is having a good look

At this point we are keeping the light levels low so they get used to the new box

They all seem to notice the strange lights above and there are quite a lot

This blue tit is doing the same, checking the lights, and they eye in the sky

Who says birds are daft, during a very heavy rain shower this group of young birds shelter under the enormous new bird box. One of the babies has pulled some wire out this wire feeds the outside camera, and it is using it as a swing.

Thankfully this box is on a winch and can be lowered and raised for any necessary adjustments

For next season we have replaced the box used by the Robins, who successfully fledged 4 chicks. This new box 1 of a pair of new open fronted boxes, is located in a thick hedge, the other box is in a Honeysuckle bush, both have some night vision capability, and will be streamed on the net, lets hope they get used

Already new species, for us at least, have checked out this box

An ever inquisitive blue tit is having a good look

The new season is getting underway now with all the birds checking out future winter roosting sites or suitable nesting opportunities for next year

The two new Tit boxes have 4 cameras each, 1 out, 1 on top, 1 side camera and 1 angle camera block with auto focus. The angle camera is for video recording only and wont be streamed. This is a still, from this camera

Unfortunately competition between birds, quite often turns to aggression

Already this has led to a couple of fights

Although things look and sound terrible, thankfully there seem to be few lasting injuries
