November (Page 1) 2008 |
| Autumn is here now and we already have one
rooster in bird box 1 |
This blue tit has been checking out the space as
well |
| You will notice this great tit has a white
area on its tail and whenever we some sort of distinguishing mark on
a bird it helps with creating a name, and this one we have named
Patch |
| Patch is a very messy bird and its a good
job it has been given a none gender specific name just in case it
does turn out to be a female |
| We still have a large and varied number of
birds using the feeder, despite the bamboo bars to keep the pigeons
off |
| I must admit to being surprised at this bird
visiting |
| The first woodpecker I have ever seen on
here |
| Also recently we had the largest flock of
long tailed tits we have ever seen |
| This picture captured by the fantastic
i-Catcher software we use, inspired us to try and improve the
picture quality from this cheap Chinese camera |
| The Sparrow Hawk had made a dive at a robin,
sat at the time, on top of the camera |
| You can clearly see that its attack has
failed by its empty talons |
| This camera, has now been replaced, with an
auto focus under dome PTZ controlled from the computer, and soon to
be controlled by the software itself. We now have three Pan, Tilt
and Zoom cameras, and although we are a bit behind with everything
this year, we are planning two new bird boxes with true day night
and auto focus cameras modules, so keep watching the live
