May (Page 2) 2009
| The 5 May, the 6 chicks at 7 am all
looking strong |
| Ester helps another chick from its shell,
this should be the 7th |
Another shot of the remaining egg shell |
| And then there were 3 eggs left |
| May 6th and still 7 chicks with 3 eggs
remaining |
| 15 minutes later and another shell is being
disposed of |
| The 7th of May, and the 8th chick is
released from its shell just after 4am |
| The last remaining egg can just be seen in
this picture |
| The parents are making good use of our
mealworm feeder, but they have to be quick as they are sharing with a
sparrow family and several great tits |
| Mother and chicks are doing fine, despite
the very strong cold winds we are having |
| We always make sure we give them a good feed
last thing, leaving enough for the early morning, but they have to
be quick |
| May the 8th just before 4am and the 10th
and last chick hatches out, this little chick is going to have a
struggle to survive against its older siblings |
| Midday today May 8, and we can
happily report all 10 are doing fine, even the tiny one |
| Look how, Mum in this case, makes sure the
food goes all the way down, good job we don't have to feed our
children like this |
