June (Page 3) 2006 (10th June) Chicks Hand Reared
The chicks are developing the skills they will need to survive in the wild, and so far without my help, they are now starting to search in the nooks and cracks of the box, and investigating the varied food stuffs, I have supplied.
As soon as they are feeding themselves they will be going into the shed at night and in the garden during the day. The box they are in now will connect with the aviary from the shed. This Aviary is shielded from view and they will not see any humans from that point on, but they will be able to retreat back to the box if they need to feel safe or for me to feed them but I hope not, once we reach this point, you will not be able to watch them live, as the feed wont stretch that far and I will not be able to get any more photos.

I have just discovered that if you have the camera set on macro and hold it close to the bars, the bars don't show in the photos, I wish I had discovered this earlier.
omega is still working on that stump, and it is going down.
