June (Page 2) 2008 |
| The morning of June 2, 9 chicks with itchy
feet, it would seem |
| To my surprise the first chick decided to
leave @ 6.21am |
Here it goes, making it all the way to the birch
tree above the box |
| The second contestant did not dally long
and shot straight out @ 7.01am |
| This one went off in the direction of the
bird feeder |
| Then there was seven little Indians |
The next little one took the plunge@ 7.17am |
| Heading for the birch tree |
| The third chick followed soon after @ 7.21
after a moments hesitation |

Here it goes, making it all the way to the birch
tree above the box |
| I am not sure if this little bird is one of
ours as it looks slightly more developed, very curious though |
| At this point we have five little Indians
left, and not looking too keen to go |
| That little chap keeps popping back |
| Here it is again investigating the end of my
defunct outside camera |
| Now the cheeky chap is looking in the box,
let me innnnnnnn |
| Another nosy chap, just curious and not
aggressive, thank heavens |
| After much hesitation the next chick takes
the plunge |
| A better description would be goes up, as
most chicks fly upwards if they have the strength |
| This video covers quite quickly the five
chicks leaving and some other stuff, worth the look |
| So now its late afternoon and the remaining
chicks look set to stay for a while |
