June (Page 1) 2010
| The first of Honey's eggs on the 31st May
at 13.45 |
| Honey as usual with these birds consumes
the egg shell |
| The first time we get a good look at the
first little chick |
| Honey nips out and picks up a bug for the
chick to eat, which it does, amazingly straight away |
| The second chick hatches at 4.06 the same
day |
Both chicks look very strong and healthy |
| Honey consumes this egg shell also |
| 9.30 the following day, the first of June
and four chicks have now hatched |
| By 10.06 only two eggs remain to hatch |
| At midday the following day the situation
remains the same |
| Finally the 3rd June and all seven chicks
have hatched |
| The next day the forth of June and all seven
chicks are well fed and healthy |
| Honey nips out for breakfast at 4 49am. |
| This is a good picture of the last chick
born looking quite hungry, but very much alive |
| The 1st June and the four Blackbird chicks
are starting to get their feathers |
| This is them on the 5th June such a change,
looking like true birds now |
| Later the same day, look how they can
stretch their necks |
| The male Blackbird is quite tame, and will
feed from a box held out by us, this has proved to be somewhat
troublesome. This Blackbird now expects the food and will happily
walk in through the house, to the lounge. Once the bird is sure he
has caught our eye he flies back out and wait's for food |
| This is the last shot today of these well
fed chicks, only about 8 days to go now and they will leave the nest |
