"Bluey" Laid her first egg.
They normally lay one egg a day, until the clutch for that year is complete.

I took this picture, and although you cant see much, there are three eggs.

Bluey has been incubating the eggs for several days now

I snatched this picture while she was away feeding herself.

There were still the five eggs. Bluey is still incubating them, there has been no sign of the male blue tit

The first chick hatched, I was unable to get any more pictures until the fifteenth when there were four chicks.

The weather was atrocious, and on the eighteenth we woke up to some very strange noises coming from the nest box.
I was just in time to see her struggling to lift out of the box what turned out to be the last dead chick, and she flew off with it.

I can't tell you how heartbreaking this was, my wife and I felt down for days, and we vowed, that next year would be different.
So we decided to build a new Bird Box and get ourselves some form of camera that we could install inside. View the next diary, for what happens next
