April 9
Nest building is rising to a fever pitch, with a good mixture of
straw and moss. In this photo the male is feeding the female, so
cute.

Bluey 2 prefers blonds as she has lined the nest cup with some blond
hair that she has found.
I guess the straw or dry grass helps bind
the moss together making the nest cup stronger, cleaver aren’t they?
Yesterday she tried to drag in a very large
lump of cotton wool but did not quite succeed, since then she has
carried it in bit by bit.

To day has been a very hard day for our little friend; she spent
much longer on the nest cup, this morning and seemed to be
shivering. She might well have been egg laden, as she definitely did
not lay an egg this morning.
So imagine my joy when at 7.20 PM after spending most of the day out
she laid her first egg clearly to be seen in this picture.
It would seem the
male is psychic as he turned up just seconds after, ready to feed her.

this week the weather has been great and Bluey 2 has made the most
of it, as of this morning we have seven eggs and still no signs of
her giving up.
