The 1st April and still 3 eggs just
as well perhaps as the weather is awful
So you have settled on 3, we had hoped for
more but we cant be greedy. At least the Sun is shinning now
A short video of the Dunnock nest, not the best
video quality but it is via radio
This is a shot from the overhead cam in
box 1 and we have 2 eggs
Another egg comes in to view on the third
day
She covers her eggs so well its hard to tell
how many she has we can see at least 4 in this shot from our fourth
camera
She continues to cover the eggs, the weather
is still quite cold for the time of year and perhaps this is why,
she spends most of the day away from the nest
This video shows even more fluff being
dropped in, should keep them eggs nice and warm
It amazes us, to look at the nest you would
not believe, a that its deep enough, or b that there are any eggs at
all
As you can see when she gets ready to roost
she uncovers the eggs and you get the briefest glimpse see if you
can count them.
Back at the Dunnock nest, the weather is
being kinder
Still three eggs though, so that's the lot
for our first Dunnock nest, at least the first we ever found
What's that strange thing up there, looking
down on me?
Night time falls, its set to rain hard
tonight
The Poor Dunnock sits on the nest in the
pouring rain, protecting and keeping her eggs warm and toasty
