Summary of Events - 2006

This year we have 2
new bird boxes with colour camera's installed plus a pro cam giving
good quality close ups. A Tit is roosting in each box at night
This bird has been
roosting since early January and has brought in the the odd bit of nesting
material. However the birds continue to fight over possession of this
and the other box
possession of the
box seems settled now and the first nesting material has arrived, things look very promising for a successful nesting. Dad
feeds the Mum to be with regularity
Early April and the
first egg has been laid, 11 eggs laid in total. The weather
this year has been very stable so lets hope it stays this way. The
female's behaviour towards the male is dwindling
The first egg's have hatched from the eleven laid.
Mum is struggling to feed her ever increasing brood.
Plenty of video clips to
be seen
A very bad spell of
weather, finds mum unable to feed her brood and she suddenly
disappears. we are left with a quandary of what to do with the chicks
We cant sit by and watch them starve to
death, so we decide to rescue them and hand rear them.
A great deal of hard work, but very
rewarding
The surviving chick's
are released into the wild, but for a while decide not to leave. Follow
